Three Short Plays

Three early plays by Wole Soyinka, published by Mbari in 1963. These short dramatic works show Soyinka developing the theatrical language — drawing on Yoruba masquerade, ritual, and mythology — that would define his later major plays. The Mbari publication was an early landmark in the career of Africa's first Nobel laureate in Literature.
