Odu No. 1

The inaugural issue of Odu, launched in January 1955 as a forum for scholarly discussion of Yoruba culture, history, and related studies. Published from the University of Ibadan, Odu was one of the earliest academic journals in West Africa devoted to African studies — a landmark in the institutionalisation of Yoruba scholarship.
