The short story is AYI KWEI ARMAH’s “An African Fable”, published the same year as The Beautyful Ones Are Not Yet Born, a first edition of which this Library also holds. MARYSE CONDÉ appears in the Palabres alongside ALI A. MAZRUI and MBELLA SONNE DIPOKO, whose “Racism and the Eloquence of May” answers the Paris risings. J.
