Rediscovery and Other Poems

Kofi Awoonor's debut collection, published under his earlier name George Awoonor-Williams. The poems draw deeply on the dirge tradition of the Ewe people of Ghana, creating a poetry of grief and longing that is formally distinct from anything else in African literature of the period. This Mbari publication launched one of Ghana's most important literary careers.
