About this Issue
Number 4, December 1973, and the journal has moved. The editorial address is now P.O. Box 597, Amherst, Massachusetts — Achebe had begun teaching at the University of Massachusetts the year before. Nsukka appears instead as a regional representative: E. N. Obiechina for West Africa, Micere Githae-Mugo in Nairobi for East Africa. Chinweizu and Isidore Okpewho are associate editors; Kofi Awoonor, Michael Thelwell and Quincy Troupe are contributing editors. The issue carries a printed apology for having appeared only once in the previous year, and the promise of three numbers a year from here on. Contributors include Chinweizu, Quincy Troupe, John Munonye, Ossie Onuora Enekwe, Ifeanyi Menkiti, Jayne Cortez, Micere Githae-Mugo, R. A. Gbadamosi and Achebe himself. The last leaf is a full-page NOK Publishers advertisement for their Traditional African Literature series, kept here as a record of what was being published alongside.
